# New Discoveries in HER2 Detection: A Novel Method of Multimodal Detection of HER2 from a Single Tube of Blood

How CellCarta’s Eszter Papp, PhD, detects oncosomes on the RareCyte CTC platform — and, in a proof-of-concept study, combines them with circulating tumor cells and cell-free DNA from a single tube of blood to identify metastatic breast cancer with elevated HER2.

In this recorded webinar, Eszter Papp, PhD, R&D Product Manager at CellCarta, presents a novel method for oncosome detection that the CellCarta team developed on the RareCyte circulating tumor cell (CTC) platform.

She then shares findings from a proof-of-concept study that combined data from three analytes drawn from a single tube of blood — oncosomes, circulating tumor cells, and cell-free DNA (cfDNA) — to identify metastatic breast cancer patients with elevated HER2 expression. Reading those signals together is the multimodal, single-blood-sample approach named in the talk’s title.

Because the study is described as an early proof of concept, the webinar is best viewed as a look at how a multimodal, blood-based readout can be assembled from a single sample rather than as an established result. It is shared here for research.
