Orion LE Spatial Proteomics System

Orion LE is the entry configuration of the Orion spatial proteomics platform — 14-channel, whole-slide multiplex imaging for targeted panels on a field-upgradeable instrument that grows with your program.

Orion LE brings the Orion platform's high-speed immunofluorescence imaging to targeted panels: 14 channels per round at sub-micron resolution, across the whole slide. When a study needs more markers, the lab adds rounds; multi-round acquisition extends the plex for higher-plex work without moving to another instrument.

The configuration is designed to scale. It holds 2 slides and manages data through OMERO Plus for multi-user teams. Because the instrument is field-upgradeable, a lab can start with focused panels and grow into multiple projects and large cohort studies as the work expands.

  • 14 imaging channels per round. Orion LE records 14-channel multiplex immunofluorescence in each high-speed imaging round, with multi-round capability to extend the plex for higher-plex studies.
  • Sub-micron, whole-slide resolution. A 20X 0.8 NA objective and a 2048 × 2048 sCMOS camera (6.5 µm pixels, 95% QE, 1.0-electron read noise) resolve entire slides at sub-micron detail, paired with a 4X 0.13 NA objective.
  • Field-upgradeable, 2-slide instrument. Orion LE holds 2 slides and scans at 4 minutes per cm² per channel within a 21 × 22 × 23.5 in footprint. The design is field-upgradeable, so the system grows with the program instead of being replaced.
  • OMERO Plus data management for shared teams. Scans are written as 16-bit OME-TIFF to a 12 TB workstation on 10-gigabit Ethernet, and OMERO Plus gives multi-user groups one place to review and annotate the images.
